Our History
In 1966 E. Robert & Bette Brown started Lafayette Masonry Supply, Inc. They built the company from the ground up and have served the Lafayette Community for over 3 decades. Their children Greg, Doug, Lisa and Kim helped them to build the business over the years. Early in 2005 we all decided it was in the best interest of the community to separate the fireplace shop from the masonry supplies. We all felt Lafayette and the surrounding communities desperately needed a place to see the latest lines of fireplaces, stoves, etc. It was decided that Kim, Lisa and Carl (our installer for the over 20 years) would design and build a new fireplace shop. We had 400 sq. ft. at Lafayette Masonry. We now have over 2,800 sq. ft. in the showroom and an attached warehouse. We have all worked together and we know our dad would be proud of what we have accomplished.
The new showroom has over 30 burning displays. We have tried to display as many different fireplaces, stoves etc. and different fronts to help customers with ideas. We are very visual people and believe the customer needs to know what to expect from their fireplace, stove etc. They also may get some good ideas on what to do with the face and mantel. Previously, at Lafayette Masonry we didn’t sell wood stoves. We now have over 7 lines of wood/gas stoves and wood furnaces.
A Fire’s Place is ready to continue to serve the community for decades to come. We look forward to showing you our showroom and all of the displays we have. Whether you are building a new home, remodeling or putting the finishing touches to your outdoor living space, we want you to see your choices and know what to expect out of your new fireplace, stove, insert or outdoor fire accessories. Knowledge is your most important asset to do your project wisely.
